Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Gym Unity services, including day passes, memberships and access to our facilities. By using our services or claiming a pass, you agree to these terms.
1. About Gym Unity
Gym Unity operates a network of gyms in the United Kingdom, currently including clubs in Tamworth, Lichfield, Burton and Fradley.
Website: gymunity.co.uk
Email: contact@gymunity.co.uk
Membership administration and payment services may be provided on our behalf by a third-party membership management or payment provider.
2. Membership eligibility
You must be 16 years of age or older to become a Gym Unity member unless we expressly agree otherwise. Members under 18 may be subject to additional requirements, including parental or guardian consent where appropriate.
You must provide accurate, complete and current information when joining. Membership is personal to you and must not be transferred, lent or sold.
3. Membership options
Gym Unity offers a range of membership plans including fixed-term (6- and 12-month) and rolling monthly memberships. Prices, commitment periods and benefits will be as communicated when you join. Additional services may carry extra charges.
4. Fixed-term memberships
Fixed-term memberships require payment for the agreed minimum period. Cancelling your payment instruction does not, by itself, cancel your membership or outstanding obligations.
5. Rolling memberships
Rolling memberships continue until cancelled in accordance with the applicable cancellation process and any notice period disclosed when you joined.
6. Flexible passes
We may offer day, week and month passes. Unless stated otherwise, passes are personal, non-transferable, non-refundable and expire at the end of the stated validity period.
7. Payments
Membership fees must be paid when due. Recurring fees may be collected by Direct Debit or another approved method. Failure to pay may result in suspension of access and additional charges where permitted by law.
8. Online purchases and cancellation rights
Where applicable, statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law may apply. Information about cooling-off periods will be provided during the joining process where required by law.
9. Cancelling your membership
Cancellations depend on your membership type. Fixed-term memberships are not generally cancellable during the minimum term except for legal or qualifying reasons; rolling memberships are cancellable subject to any notice period.
10. Freezing memberships
Membership freezes may be available in certain circumstances and must be approved via the applicable membership management process.
11. 24/7 access
Some Gym Unity clubs operate 24/7. Members using unmanned hours should familiarise themselves with emergency procedures and safety information displayed in the club.
12. Access security
Use only your authorised access. Do not allow others to use your credentials. We may suspend access where misuse or security concerns arise.
13. Health and fitness
You are responsible for ensuring you are fit to exercise. Seek medical advice where appropriate and stop exercising if you experience concerning symptoms.
14. Use of equipment
Use equipment as intended, follow displayed instructions, return equipment after use and report damage promptly.
15. Gym conduct
Respect staff and other members. The following behaviour is prohibited: threatening, abusive, discriminatory or violent conduct; theft; reckless or dangerous use of equipment; possession or use of illegal drugs; and other actions that interfere with safety or enjoyment. Serious breaches may result in suspension or termination.
16. Clothing and hygiene
Wear appropriate clothing and maintain reasonable hygiene. We may refuse access where clothing or behaviour presents a health or safety risk.
17. Classes
Classes may be limited and require advance booking. Repeated failure to attend may result in restrictions on bookings.
18. Personal trainers
Independent personal trainers may operate within Gym Unity. Where you engage a trainer directly, their terms apply to those services.
19. Personal belongings
Keep belongings secure. We are not responsible for loss or damage except where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
20. Parking
Comply with parking restrictions at each location. Gym Unity is not responsible for third-party parking charges or penalties.
21. CCTV and club security
CCTV may be used for safety and security. Processing of CCTV and other personal data is covered by our Privacy Policy.
22. Photography and recording
Do not photograph or record others without permission. Filming in private areas is prohibited. Professional filming requires prior written permission.
23. Damage to property
You may be liable for reasonable costs arising from deliberate or negligent damage you cause.
24. Availability of facilities
Facilities and equipment availability cannot be guaranteed. We may restrict access for maintenance, safety or other valid reasons and will handle extended disruptions in line with consumer law.
25. Changes to opening hours
Opening arrangements may change. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of material changes.
26. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate membership for serious or repeated breaches, non-payment, endangering others, theft or other misconduct. Termination does not remove payment obligations incurred prior to termination.
27. Our responsibility to you
We will provide services with reasonable care. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
28. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside our control (e.g., severe weather, epidemics, utility failures). This does not affect statutory rights.
29. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for operational, legal or other reasons. Where a change materially affects an existing membership we will provide reasonable notice where required.
30. Personal data and privacy
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
31. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our services, please contact us at contact@gymunity.co.uk with your name, membership details and information about your complaint.
32. Third-party services
Third parties linked or integrated with our services have their own terms. Where a third party acts on our behalf it does not reduce our responsibilities under applicable law.
33. Severability
If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable it will be modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary; the remaining provisions remain in force.
34. No waiver
Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
35. Transfer of rights
You may not transfer your membership unless we agree. Gym Unity may transfer its rights in connection with a business transfer provided your rights are not materially reduced.
36. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory rights regarding jurisdiction.
